Weddings

Congratulations on your engagement.

We are happy to hear you want to get married at St Mary’s, Chickerell.

Marrying in church is a meaningful, spiritual, and beautiful thing to do.  A time when you can gather with friends and family and the wider community to have their support as you make some important promises to each other before God.  The promises you will make as a part of your wedding service will help you as you begin your life together; letting God be the place of help and wisdom as you grow together in your marriage.

Making your promises in a church is a big thing to do; these promises, made in public, will help you to stay together and grow together with God’s help. God and the wider church are here for you to help you keep your promises and will be there for you in the future too.

The vicar, who will help organise and conduct the service, has a very particular role to play in your wedding day.  They can help plan, with you, a wedding service that is a blend of the ancient traditions and modern experience to reflect you and your story.  Your wedding can be made as personal, memorable, meaningful, and beautiful as you want it to be.

Please contact the Parish Office to find out about having a wedding at St Mary’s, Chickerell.
